The new NASA CRUISER anemometer works without any cables in the mast. The mounted below deck receiver unit is via a cable connection, the wind speed and direction to the CRUISER display or any other NMEA0183-compatible display such. as your

The receiver is supplied via the 12 V vehicle electrical system with voltage, the mast assembly needs only intermittently to recharge the battery of the transmitter on the integrated solar cell to bright daylight. With a fully charged battery operation of 2,000 hours is possible without recharging.
